I have been bringing my fur babies to Waipio Pet Clinic for over 15 years, and they are like family to me. I am always greeted with a warm smile and hello, and I know my that during any visit, routine or follow up, my fur babies are treated with the utmost care and love. I am always fully informed and my questions are always answered. I will always recommend Waipio Pet Clinic to anyone who asks, and I nominate them for the "Best of" annually.

As my dogs aged, I learned firsthand how critical compassionate and attentive veterinary care truly is. My beloved BeBe struggled in his later years, & despite my efforts, I was unable to find a veterinarian I could fully trust. Sadly, he passed away from pancreatitis that went undiagnosed. The practice I saw, felt rushed & detached, and BeBe’s (nor my) pain & distress were met with the concern, that was deserved. Losing BeBe under those circumstances left me heartbroken, carrying deep guilt. Years later, after adopting Buffy, history seemed at risk of repeating itself as he too faced health challenges in old age. Desperate to find better care, I found Dr. Tamura—and everything changed. Her knowledge & attentiveness were immediately evident. She quickly diagnosed Buffy with diabetes & patiently taught me how to monitor his glucose levels & administer insulin. Because of her guidance & care, Buffy went on to live a long, happy, & well-loved life. When the time came to say goodbye to Buffy, Dr. Tamura’s compassion went far beyond medical care; it was unforgettable. She sat with me, encouraged Buffy to enjoy his favorite final meal—a personal pan pizza topping…and as Dr. Tamura gently administered the injections, she cried alongside me. That moment meant more than words can express. How many veterinarians share that depth of empathy and tenderness? After many years, I adopted my current pup, Chibi. I feel deeply reassured knowing Dr. Tamura & her amazing team (more like a family) are caring for her. Even now, commuting an hour from Honolulu even during rush hour, does not deter me. The trust, empathy, & quality of care there, are truly rare❤️.

My wife and I just moved to the island and have been looking for a caring and trustworthy vet to take our pug. The staff here were very friendly as soon as we walked in and the vets were caring and honest. On top of that the pricing was very fair.

I love that I’m able to send a text during non-office hours & receive a response when the clinic opens! It saves me so much time and stress to be able to text. The office visit was an annual one for my dog. They treated her with kindness, that I appreciated tremendously. The efficiency and prompt responses on follow ups make this business a 5 star!

We love Dr. Tamura, Erin, and the entire staff at Waipio Pet Clinic. They have treated our mini poodle with the most awesome care and are always so kind and respond quickly whenever I contact them. Our dog was a rescue and has chronic kidney disease, as well as dental and stomach issues. They have helped to bring her readings to better levels and she is doing well! I can tell that they truly care about their patients and families.
