Due to periodic power outages, I decided to buy a portable generator. It didn’t occur to me that I would have extension cords running all over the house. Plus I’d have to unplug things and then plug them back in with the power came back on. To alleviate this I contacted Morgan electric about having a lockout switch installed in my fuse box. The key to a lockout switch is that you have to turn off your incoming power switch to your home. This is so you won’t be running your generator AND have power going to your home from your supplier. It also stops current from leaving your home in case someone is working on a powerline nearby so they won’t get electrocuted. With the switch installed Morgan electric also ran a incoming plug that I will plug my generator into. Then I can turn off all unnecessary power consumers and just turn on the rooms that I want. A good example would be turning on the kitchen for a few hours to keep the food cold in the fridge. The photos show the installation and the usage and the actual. You can see in the picture of my fuse box they added the incoming plug down to the right of the fuse box. You can also see the switch at the top of my fuse box, and you can note that in order to turn it on the main breaker must be shut off, and the safety must be pushed up out of the way to activate the switch. Note, you must have two open fuses for them to move the top two so that the switch can be installed. For my application, this was under $1000. Your price may be different.

Ok. Third time using Morgan Electric. As always. These guys are amazing. The quality of work is outstanding. They were always keeping me updated on the status of the job from start to finish. Thanks again for keeping me out of the dog house with my wife. Cody and Jake came out on time. Very professional. Pricing was great. Definitely my first call for future work.

We had a slew of electrical problems in our new home from faulty outlets to malfunctioning outdoor lights. The folks at Morgan Electric were extremely easy to work with, on time, professional, and really take care of your home. I cannot recommend them enough if you have any electrical issues.
