Supported this locally owned business for years, and will never use again after a particularly poor service experience. They came to service our home AC units as part of our bi-annual agreement in July. A week later we noticed our upstairs unit was not keeping temp during hot afternoons, and we called them back to check it out for us. Took a few days but a tech returned, looked it over, told us he couldn’t find a problem and charged us a service fee. All good, we’ll see what happens. The problem persisted so we called again, and again a few days later a tech returned, completed some service but found no issues. We continued to have issues and having already had techs out twice and with a newborn in the house, I finally reached out to the owner. He reluctantly came over, making it well known he was there against his wishes. He was extremely condescending to us telling us the issue was our thermostat settings (which hadn’t been changed at any point) or our air filter (which was admittedly dirty, but hadn’t been checked in other service calls!). He didn’t actually check our unit at any point, and he drove away with a laugh as I told him the temperature upstairs had gone up a degree since he arrived. Again, our son was 3 months old at the time, in the middle of the summer in Florida. We finally switched to another HVAC company, and surprise, the issue was not our filter. I’m sure many have had great experiences, but as for us, McWilliams has lost our business for good.
McWilliams and Son are the best! They responded quickly and got the job done. The technician they sent out, Joe, was exceptional. He was super polite, professional and very informative. He represented the company well.
Since my house was new, I have only used McWilliams and Son for my maintenance and repair issues. I trust the work they do is the reason my units have needed minimal repair and both are almost 10 years old. Great owners, great staff, great technicians. You get what you pay for. There is always someone cheaper out there which comes back to bite you and cost you more. Do it right the first time and go with McWilliams and Son.
Pros: they came when called regarding compressor. The workers were nice and courteous and hard working. Honest abd questioned charged price. Cons: I spoke with owner/manager regarding price. Told him prices on Google as well as where we live were between 900- 2300 with average of 1600. He told me they were all wrong. We paid 3500. He would not reduce. I can not recommend this company.
Holt thier technician was here today to install a UV Blue light for our AC unit. He was very informative and friendly. Holt is definitely an asset to the entire McWilliams and Son team. Kudos to all!!
